SUMMARY:Self-Care: Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others
DESCRIPTION:Mentors Care will be hosting an event for our mentors and the communities that we serve. Peter Pinon\, MS\, LPC\, co-founder\, counselor and coach of MindsConnect will be our keynote speaker and our focus for the event is Self-Care: Caring for yourself while caring for others. This will be a beneficial session for anyone that works with others suffering from trauma\, leading them to self-reflect and assess their own compassion fatigue. It is our hope that those who can attend\, either in person or those joining us through live stream\, will be equipped with practical strategies and tools to care for themselves and the ones that they care for in the midst of burnout\, compassion fatigue and secondary traumatic stress.\n \n\nOur Community Connection Event will take place on Monday\, February 1st at 7:00-8:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie\, and we encourage anyone who works with people that are dealing with trauma to either come to the event in person or to log in to our live stream. The facility will be set up to ensure social distancing and face masks will be required while entering and leaving the building and when social distancing is not possible. \n\n \n\nAnyone interested in attending in person or viewing online may register at mentors.care/events. Once you are registered\, you will receive an email with information and instructions for the selection that you made.
