A Year of Recognition
Kicking off in September 2025, the
AOW program will run for 30 weeks,
throughout the school year,
highlighting the dedication and
talent of local young athletes

How it works:
Athletes will be chosen by our readers in a weekly online
voting contest from a pool of nominations provided by
local coaches, athletic directors and principals of athletes
who had outstanding achievements in their sport during
the previous week.
Winners will be announced each week in the newspaper
and on the website.
At the end of the year, standout male and female Athletes
of the Week will be entered in an online voting contest for
the Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
Readers can vote one time per day.
