Keep Waxahachie Beautiful - Mustang Creek Clean Up
Keep Waxahachie Beautiful is excited to host the first ever Mustang Creek Clean-Up this Saturday, September 17 at Brown-Singleton Park, 846 Farley Street. The goal is to clean up as much of the trash and debris as possible, and remove the brush, weeds and low-hanging limbs to prevent future trash hang-ups and improve water flow during heavy rain events. Brown-Singleton is one of our largest parks, is the southern boundary of Little Creek Trail, and is home to Waxahachie’s Disc Golf course.
Dozens of volunteers needed are needed from 7:30am to noon. Please meet at Brown-Singleton Park Pavilion next to the parking lot. This project is suitable for ages 12 and up. Volunteers should be aware of poison ivy and other possible hazards. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and close-toed shoes or boots. Bring gloves, tree loppers, hand saws, and bow rakes. No power tools. Please contact Jim Brunson at 956-534-1100 with any questions.
This program was made possible through a Keep Texas Beautiful 2022 ZenWTR Waterway and Coastal Cleanup Grant. Waxahachie is one of four communities in the state (along with Pearland, Cleburne, and Victoria) to receive one of these grants which are intended to recover 50 million pounds of ocean-bound plastic by 2025.
